Official Rules and Regulations for HackMatrix 2026.

1. Event Overview

HackMatrix 2026 is a 24-hour national-level hackathon organized at Adamas University, Barasat, West Bengal, scheduled for 11th-12th September 2026.

The event is designed to foster innovation, collaboration, and the development of technology-driven solutions to real-world problems.

2. Eligibility and Participation

  • Participation is open to undergraduate students and eligible individuals as specified by the organizers.
  • Each team must consist of a minimum of two (2) and a maximum of four (4) members.
  • Participants may be part of only one team.
  • Cross-institutional teams are permitted.
  • All participants must carry valid identification and comply with verification requirements.

3. Project Guidelines

  • All projects must be developed during the official duration of the hackathon.
  • The use of open-source libraries, APIs, frameworks, and third-party tools is permitted.
  • Any pre-existing code, templates, or prior work must be disclosed to the organizers before the start of the event.
  • Submission of previously developed or substantially pre-built projects without disclosure will result in disqualification.
  • Projects must be original and must not infringe upon any intellectual property rights.

4. Code of Conduct

All participants are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional conduct throughout the event.

The organizers reserve the right to take appropriate disciplinary action in case of any violation.

  • Respectful interaction with fellow participants, mentors, judges, organizers, and staff.
  • Adherence to all instructions provided by the organizing team.
  • Refraining from any form of harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behavior.

5. Campus Rules and Discipline

All participants must strictly adhere to the rules and regulations of Adamas University and the event venue.

5.1 Prohibited Activities

  • Smoking, consumption of alcohol, or use of any prohibited substances is strictly forbidden within the campus premises.
  • Possession or use of illegal, hazardous, or restricted items is not permitted.

5.2 Conduct and Behavior

  • Any form of nuisance, misconduct, or disruptive activity will not be tolerated.
  • Participants must maintain decorum and behave in a responsible and professional manner at all times.
  • Any act of harassment, abuse, or use of offensive language will result in immediate disciplinary action.

5.3 Campus Property

  • Participants are required to respect all university property, infrastructure, and facilities.
  • Any damage to property will result in penalties and may lead to disqualification and further action.

5.4 Compliance

  • Participants must comply with all security protocols, venue guidelines, and instructions issued by organizers or campus authorities.
  • Failure to comply may result in removal from the event.

6. Judging Criteria

Projects will be evaluated based on, but not limited to, the following criteria:

  • Innovation and originality
  • Technical complexity and implementation
  • User experience and design
  • Practical applicability and impact
  • Feasibility and scalability
  • Clarity of presentation and demonstration

7. Submission Requirements

Each team must submit the following before the specified deadline:

Late or incomplete submissions may not be evaluated.

  • Source code repository (for example, GitHub)
  • Working prototype, live demo, or demonstration video
  • Presentation or pitch deck

8. Disqualification

A team may be disqualified under, but not limited to, the following circumstances:

All decisions regarding disqualification shall be at the sole discretion of the organizers.

  • Submission of plagiarized or copied work
  • Use of undisclosed pre-built projects or code
  • Violation of the code of conduct or campus rules
  • Engagement in unethical or disruptive behavior
  • Failure to meet submission requirements or deadlines

9. Resources and Support

Participants may utilize open-source tools, APIs, and other publicly available resources.

Mentorship support may be provided during the event.

Any additional resources or credits provided by sponsors must be used in accordance with their respective terms.

10. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights of the submitted projects shall remain with the respective participants.

By participating in the event, participants grant the organizers the right to use project details, names, and demonstrations for promotional and non-commercial purposes.

11. Prizes and Recognition

Prizes, certificates, and additional benefits shall be awarded as per the official announcement.

The distribution and nature of rewards are subject to change at the discretion of the organizers.

12. Limitation of Liability

The organizers, sponsors, and affiliated institutions shall not be held liable for:

Participants attend and participate in the event at their own risk.

  • Any loss, damage, or theft of personal belongings
  • Any injury or incident occurring during the event
  • Any technical failures, disruptions, or unforeseen circumstances

13. Amendments and Final Authority

The organizers reserve the right to amend, modify, or update these rules at any time without prior notice.

All decisions made by the organizing committee and judging panel shall be final and binding in all matters related to the event.
